A French Dinner at Bon Appetit La Boutique

We haven't tried out any French food before or maybe we had  and we just didn't know it, French Fries and French Macaroons not counted har har! When Jazz told us that her friend Yves owns a French Resto and wanted to invite bloggers for Food Tasting we immediately said yes and really got excited. Bon Appetit La boutique is located at an unassuming corner at Plaza Del Carmen at Loyola St, we've passed it by a couple of times since it is located near Human Nature shop which we frequent.

The place is very true to its French theme with french boutique ornaments like sewing materials and soaps adorning the place.

Monsieur Yves, the owner, warmly welcomed us and introduced each item in our dinner in French and English.

We started out with Soupe à l’Oignon (Onion Soup Gratinated Toast Bread & Gruyère Cheese) which is warm and hearty and everything that a soup should be.

Quiche au Thon (Savory Pie with Tuna & Gruyère Cheese) We love cheese and Gruyère Cheese is sweet and salty and complimented the tuna and made this pie truly savory.

Salade Niçoise (Mixed Mediterranean Salad) A delightful mix of tomato, hard boiled eggs, tuna, olive cucumber and lettuce.

Boeuf Bourguignon (Beef Stew in Red Wine Sauce with onion, Mushroom and Bacon) This is another tasty dish and after the pasta was gone we did not resist the urge to clean off the remaining sauce with bread. By the way, the bread baguette is served for free and is refillable!

Steak de Gindara Grillé Sauce Beurre Blanc (Grilled Butterfish with Beurre Blanc Sauce) Monsieur Yves certainly made sure that we got a taste of everything from vegetables to cheese, beef and then fish! We love the sauce and the potato siding is just perfect. With a meal like this, who would want rice?

Linguine au Pesto de Chèvre et Menthe et Basilique (Pasta with Pesto Goat Cheese, Mint and Basil) Now this is one of our favorite! We have tried Pasta with Pesto before but pesto with mint is a whole different thing!

Pot de Crème au Chocolat (Chocolate Pot Cream) Think of Leche Flan that is chocolate flavor and you have Chocolate Pot Cream! A dreamy dessert which is rich in both flavor and texture and not too sweet.

Glace au Durian Maison (Homemade Durian Ice Cream) This Ice cream took us by surprise. Who would have thought that we can find the perfect Durian Ice Cream in a French Restaurant? We certainly didn't and we are not exaggerating when we say that it is the best we've tasted so far.

Tarte aux Pommes (Apple Pie) It doesn't look like the usual apple pie because French do it differently. The first thing we noticed was that the apple was not chopped compared to American Apple Pie and it taste really good!

Quel merveilleux repas! If you also want to experience authentic French dining do visit Bon Appetit and we assure you that you will not just have a great dining experience but be transported to France through your palates.
